KFUPM delegates visit to Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology (KAIST) on 16th and 177th of May, 2011. From CENT, delegates included Professor Gondal, Dr. Oki, and Dr. Qamar. Dr. Rachad Ben Mansour from M.E. Department also attended. The group was technically lead by Dr. Yamani. Dr. Samir Al-Baiyat was the Delegation Head (semester 103).

CENT program as well as other KFUPM Centers of Research Excellence was reviewed by Management Review Committee on 21st May, 2011 led by Dr. Khalid S. Al-Sultan. Dr. Zain H. Yamani, CENT Director presented full CENT Report and Review Committee was satisfied with the progress of the Center.

CENT Executives’ Committee’s Meetings:
CENT held its Executives’ Committee’s Meeting 4 times i.e. 28/3/11, 18/4/2011, 2nd May, 2011 and 23rd May, 2011. The meetings were chaired by Dr. Zain Yamani, Committee Chairman along with Mr. Ayman Ghannam, Dr. Nabil Maalej, Dr. Rafil Basheer and Mr. Syed Mohammad Adil.

CENT Board of Directors’ meeting and CENT International Advosory Board's Meeting
1. CENT held its 5th Board of Directors meeting on May 28, 2011. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sahel Abduljauwad, Vice-Rector, Applied Research, including members from within and outside the campus.
2. CENT held its International Advisory Board meeting on 11-12th June, 2011. The meeting was chaired by Professor Munir Nayfeh including members from local industry and international academic institutes.

CENT Director, Dr. Yamani, delivered a Key-Note lecture at the S. Aramco 2011 R&D Technical Exchange Forum under the theme of "Transforming R&DC Intellectual Capital into Added Value" conducted by Research and Development Center, on June 25-26, 2011.
The tiles of his lecture was “The University’s Role in Developing Technology: far beyond contractual research”. The lecture was well-received, and a plaque was awarded to Dr. Yamani.

A new equipment "Mass Spectroscopy (MS)" has been coupled with "Thermal Gravimetric Analysis-Differential Scanning Calorimetry (TGA-DSC)”. The new complete system TGA-DSC-MS is installed and commissioned.
